How Can a Dietitian Help?

HealthWISE dietitians provide dietary management for patients with chronic conditions such as:

  • diabetes
  • cardiovascular disease,
  • kidney disease
  • cancer

We also offer support for gastrointestinal health, including conditions like

  • irritable bowel syndrome (IBS),
  • food allergies and intolerances.

Our services extend to weight management, child and adolescent nutrition, and bariatric care, both pre- and post-gastric surgery. We also assess individual nutritional needs and distinguish nutrition facts from misconceptions.

Menu Reviews for Aged Care Facilities

Our Accredited Practising Dietitians (APDs) also provide comprehensive menu reviews for aged care facilities. We assess menus to ensure they meet the nutritional needs of residents, comply with dietary guidelines, and support the management of chronic conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease, and more.

We can:

  • Analyse existing menus for nutrient adequacy and variety

  • Recommend modifications for texture, portion sizes, and dietary restrictions

  • Provide guidance on fortified foods and hydration strategies

  • Support staff with practical tips for implementing menu changes

Our goal is to help facilities provide safe, enjoyable, and evidence-based meals that promote resident health and wellbeing.

Facilities can request a menu review by contacting HealthWISE to arrange a consultation with one of our APDs.
