People across the Liverpool Plains have a new Care Navigator service to help them access the healthcare they need.
Delivered by HealthWISE and funded through the Collaborative Care program, the free service helps community members understand how the health system works and find the right health services. The service can also connect people with other forms of support, including transport, social services and preventative health programs.
Local care navigator, Chelsea Doran, brings a strong understanding of the Liverpool Plains community and the unique challenges people can face when accessing healthcare. Her local knowledge and understanding of available services will help community members feel confident finding the right care and assistance.
“We know navigating the healthcare system can be challenging, particularly in rural communities. We’re excited to see this service make it easier for people in the Liverpool Plains community to understand their options and connect with the care they need,” Chelsea said.

The service is free for people living in the Liverpool Plains Local Government Area. No appointment is needed. Community members can drop in during scheduled outreach sessions or contact the Care Navigator by phone or email during business hours.
The Care Navigator is available now as part of a 12-month trial of the service. Chelsea will be available at the Council Chambers in Quirindi every Wednesday from 9:30am to 3:30pm, and in Werris Creek Library every Friday, from 10am to 3pm. A sign will be displayed on site when the Care Navigator is available.
The new service is the result of consultation with local health professionals and community organisations. The Collaborative Care Program develops local solutions to improve access to healthcare in regional communities by working in partnership with community members, healthcare providers and local organisations. The program is facilitated by RDN Health and is supported by the NSW Ministry of Health.
HealthWISE is also helping Wee Waa locals with the Wee Waa care navigator service, funded through the Collaborative Care Program.
