HealthWISE is proud to have been named as finalists in two categories of the Hunter New England Central Coast Primary Health Network (HNECC PHN) 2023 Primary Care Quality and Innovation Awards.
“Congratulations to all nominees. It’s wonderful to see the innovation occurring across the HNECC PHN region,” said HealthWISE Chief Executive Officer Fiona Strang.
The HealthWISE Primary Health Care Nursing (PHCN) team is in the running for the First Nations Health Award, which will be awarded to a healthcare organisation or service provider that is ‘responsive to the diversity of, and differences in, our communities to address health inequalities for our First Nations communities’.
“I’m very proud that the PHCN program has been nominated for their collaborative work with the local health district and HealthWISE Aboriginal Health team to increase breast screening rates for Aboriginal women,” Fiona said.
Fiona is also a finalist for the Primary Care Leader Award, which is given to the health centre, service provider or individual ‘that has best demonstrated innovation and leadership in primary care and/or the values of respect, innovation, accountability, integrity, cooperation, and recognition’.
“I am honoured and humbled by the nomination and thank HNECC PHN for supporting the Primary Care Awards,” she said.
Award winners will be announced on June 23, in Newcastle.
