Supporting Recovery

Everyone deserves to feel safe, especially at home. If someone in your life—like a partner, family member, or former partner—hurts, scares, or controls you, this could be domestic, family, or sexual violence. Abuse can include:

  • Hitting, pushing, or hurting you
  • Making you feel scared or worthless
  • Controlling your money, time, or decisions
  • Threatening or intimidating you

If you live in the Moree, Inverell, Glen Innes, Armidale or Tamworth LGA’s and this sounds like your experience, the Supporting Recovery Program may be able to help.

How can HealthWISE assist?

We work alongside local organisations to assist individuals affected by domestic, family, and sexual violence. Through partnerships with the local care team, Anglicare, and Moree Family Support, we can help you access services and refer you to HealthWISE trauma informed mental health support.

Supporting Recovery is a free program offering mental health services for people who have experienced domestic, family, or sexual violence. Our support is confidential, safe, and tailored to meet your individual needs.

Our team of trained mental health professionals will work with you to:

  • Understand your experiences and how they’ve affected you
  • Help you feel safer and regain control
  • Support your emotional and mental recovery
  • We also offer support for children and other family members impacted by violence.

This program is open to anyone in the Moree, Inverell, Glen Innes, Armidale and Tamworth LGA’s area who have been affected by violence, including people from all identities and backgrounds, such as First Nations peoples, individuals with disabilities, members of the Rainbow community, and those from culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
