Universal Aftercare

The Universal Aftercare Service offers free, non-clinical support for anyone who is experiencing a suicidal crisis, has attempted suicide, or has been impacted by suicide. Our team provides calm, trauma-informed care to help you stay safe, feel supported, and access the right help for your recovery.

How can HealthWISE assist?

We offer rapid and proactive follow-up for up to three months, working alongside you to:

  • understand what is contributing to your distress

  • build practical strategies to manage difficult moments

  • increase your confidence to seek help when you need it

  • strengthen your connections with family, friends, and community

  • link you with community supports that can help with practical or emotional needs

Our approach focuses on building resilience, improving wellbeing, and helping you feel more connected and supported.

Support can be provided in person, by phone, or via telehealth, depending on where you live and what feels right for you.

How to Access Our Services​

  • Self-referral available: You, your family, or a friend can contact HealthWISE directly. Complete the form below and send it to mentalhealth@healthwise.org.au or drop it off at your nearest HealthWISE office.

  • You can also speak to your GP for a referral.
