HealthWISE is committed to improving the health and well-being of the communities we service, and this includes older Australians.
In the Northern Tablelands of NSW, our Memory Assessment Program provides early assessment and diagnosis for people with mild to moderate cognitive impairment, while our Armidale Dementia Carer Support Group supports those caring for family members living with dementia. We also run several Healthy Ageing Groups across our NSW footprint.
In Queensland’s Darling Downs and West Moreton regions, we support older Australians experiencing social isolation and loneliness through our Support 2 Be Me program.
“Eurah – Medicine Tree” by Rod McIntosh
Created by Kamilaroi Artist Rod McIntosh as a visual representation of wellness, inspired by the HealthWISE Vision of “Healthy Communities”.
HealthWISE acknowledges and honours the Kamilaroi / Gamilaroi / Gomeroi, Ngarabul / Ngoorabul, Bigambul, Anaiwan, Gumbayngirr, Thunggutti / Dunghutti, Yuggera / Ugarapul, Giabal / Jarowair / Western Wakka Wakka people as the Traditional Owners of the lands and waterways where HealthWISE services and facilities are located. We would like to pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging; and we would like to extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across Australia.
