Creating Healthier Communities
Bushfire Recovery Workshops

Two years on from the devastating bushfires of 2019, locals are still putting the pieces back together. The grass may be greener but for many, the trauma remains near the surface.
A series of free ‘Regrowth’ workshops seek to help regional communities work through the fallout of multiple natural disasters and learn how to prepare emotionally for similar threats.
Featuring a wide range of support services and speakers, morning tea and lunch will be provided. There will be time to socialise, and participants will work on a collective art project on the theme of ‘putting the pieces back together’.

Ezidi Refugee Video Resources
HealthWISE, funded by the Hunter New England and Central Coast Primary Health Network, created a series of 11 short videos to help explain the Australian healthcare system to Ezidi humanitarian refugees in Armidale.
Caring About Dementia
HealthWISE is actively involved in Dementia Care in the New England area providing a Memory Assessment Program referral pathway for GPs, advice and support for carers of people living with dementia, and a Dementia Carers Support Group.
HealthWISE has also produced a series of videos – Caring about Dementia, for carers of people living with dementia with some tips and hints that may help. These videos can be watched at a time that suits during the journey in caring for someone with dementia.
Did you know that HealthWISE now has over 100 staff spread amongst our 9 offices in NSW and QLD, with many outreach services to small and remote country towns?
Our staff may travel many kilometres a week to see our clients, as well as offering our services at our offices and via telehealth too. You may not realise what services and programs we offer, but when you need them, know that HealthWISE will be there for you!
The video below proudly presents a snapshot of who we are today; showcasing our incredible team, our range of primary health care services across NSW and QLD, and our community we serve.
